Polyfest

Kia Ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, faakalofa lahi atu, kia orana, bula vinaka, namaste and greetings!!  It’s Pasifika week in Aotearoa, this means it’s a week long celebration of all things Pacific.  This includes the birthday dance we had with Mrs Tele’a!  Part of the celebration is the Polyfest!  This Thursday we are planning to travel to Manukau to take part in some workshops and then visit stages.  The two stages we will be visiting will be the Maori and Diversity stages.  Did you know that this event - the PPolyolyfest celebrates 40 years since it’s beginning?  Awesome isn’t it!

I think students from other high schools perform at Polyfest because they want to show their culture to other people. They also Learn more about their culture and make their mum proud of course.

Practice the dance.
Listen to the song a lot then sing it.
attend practice every day.
Listen to your tutor.
Be sensible to your friends and group.
Don’t let your team down by not coming on the day.

Polyfest promotes other cultures by bringing them together and performing a special dance from their country and show other cultures what they Represent.

I’m looking forward to see the amazing haka’s and gailau’s and seeing the winner of the tongan and niuean performers.
                                Thanks For Reading
